Two retro Pokemon classics have been added to the roster of Nintendo Switch Online, as announced during today's Pokemon Presents showcase.

Pokemon Trading Card Game has made its way to the service's Game Boy lineup, which is available to all subscribers at no additional cost.

It's joined by Pokemon Stadium 2, which is available to players who've signed up to the additional Expansion Pack service. Sadly, if you don't have the Expansion Pack, you can't play Pokemon Stadium 2.

The original Pokemon Stadium joined Nintendo Switch Online back in April this year, so it's nice to see the sequel being made available as well.

Both games appear pretty much as they did on release, although naturally, you won't be getting the "limited edition Pokemon card" that the Pokemon TCG box art promises.

Naturally, you also can't connect your copy of Pokemon Stadium 2 to your Game Boy. The original Pokemon games aren't on Switch Online, either, so you can't somehow connect those games via digital wizardry.

Pokemon Stadium 2 is the sequel to N64 battler Pokemon Stadium. It was originally released in 2001 in North America and builds on the gameplay of the original game, allowing for the use of Gen 2 Pokemon and also connecting to second-gen Pokemon games.

Pokemon Trading Card Game, meanwhile, is a Game Boy card-battling RPG that aims to simulate the titular trading card game.

Originally released in 2000, the game pits you against eight Club Masters in a similar vein to the Gym Leaders of the mainline Pokemon series, although naturally, you'll be battling them with your card deck rather than "actual" Pokemon.

The addition of these two titles to Nintendo Switch Online wasn't all we learned during today's Pokemon Presents. We also got more info about the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, including a release date for the DLC's first part, The Teal Mask.

You can enjoy these two retro Pokemon adventures on Nintendo Switch Online starting from today. Stay tuned for more Pokemon news.
