A new Touhou Project game has been revealed by developer and publisher Unknown X, and rhythm-action game Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost has a release date.

Per a press release, Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost, a rework of the popular mobile rhythm game, is headed to Steam on February 7th next year. The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch, although we don't know when it's coming to that console.

Phantasia Lost will allow you to play through many popular Touhou Project songs and will feature a totally new storyline. It'll also feature a collaboration with Undertale and Deltarune creator Toby Fox.

Two game modes will be available: Kagura Stage and Danmaku Stage.

In Kagura Stage, you'll hit notes at the right moment to score points and build combos. Danmaku Stage, meanwhile, is a new creation that "combines Danmaku shoot-'em-up and rhythm games".

As well as the Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost release date, Unknown X also revealed a brand new Touhou Project game.

Touhou Dungeon Maker - The Labyrinth of Heart - is a "roguelike tower defense dungeon management RPG" headed to Steam sometime next year.

You must build characters, set dungeon traps, and fight off "massive numbers of incoming enemies". Since this is Touhou, those enemies take the form of "countless phantoms of girls".

Your goal in Dungeon Maker will be to survive for 100 days. As you play, you'll build your character, making them more powerful and increasing their chances of survival on subsequent runs.

Six Touhou characters will be playable in the game, including Satori Komeiji, Hatano Kokoro, and Reisen Udongein Inaba.

These announcements come just a few weeks after sidescroller Koumajou Remilia 2: Stranger's Requiem was announced. The Touhou Project spinoff game is coming to PC and Switch sometime in the future, although again, we don't have a release date for it yet.
