Rockstar has announced that prominent roleplaying community team Cfx.re has officially joined the studio's fold.
Cfx.re is primarily known for its work in Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 roleplay servers, allowing players to immerse themselves in Rockstar's worlds.
The team's biggest projects include FiveM and RedM, which add dedicated, customized server support to GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 respectively.
With both games proving massive critical successes for Rockstar, it makes sense that the studio would want to continue supporting roleplay efforts long-term.
In a roleplay community update on its website, Rockstar says it's "proud" to reveal that Cfx.re has joined Rockstar.
The studio goes on to point out that it recently expanded its mod policy to include roleplay community mods, so adding Cfx.re to the Rockstar team makes sense.
According to Rockstar, this partnership will allow them to "find new ways to support this incredible community" and to improve Cfx.re's services. More info will be coming in the weeks and months ahead, Rockstar says.

Although Rockstar is clearly still intent on supporting roleplay communities for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, the studio did halt updates to Red Dead Online last year, causing many fans to lament its demise.
Grand Theft Auto Online, however, is showing no signs of slowing down, despite the fact that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in active development.
It isn't clear what exactly Cfx.re's integration into Rockstar will achieve for either the studio or the collective, but we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available to buy right now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It can also be played on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is also available across all major systems (except Nintendo Switch).
